He was the starting quarterback for one team…
At some point, summer became my least favorite season. Three months of constant memories of the games we lost—the games I lost—before football starts again. Arlington University was supposed to be a fresh start. But infamy isn’t easily forgotten. Especially since my twin sister is still dating my biggest rival. A weekend getaway with some college buddies was supposed to be an escape from it all…until I found out Natalie Jacobs will be sleeping across the hall. Alleghany’s head cheerleader didn’t just celebrate each of my defeats—she literally led the chants against me. Staying away from her should be easy. Except…it’s not.
…while she was on the sidelines cheering for the other.
Spending the summer back in Alleghany, dealing with my parents’ problems, is the last place I want to be. I jump at the chance to visit the Cape and see some college friends. But the vacation takes an unexpected turn when I come face-to-face with Glenmont’s infamous former quarterback as soon as I arrive. Liam Stevens is the same serious rule-follower I watched shout orders on the field for four years. Sure, he’s nice to look at—especially shirtless—but the only thing Liam and I agree on is that the rivalry between our hometowns isn’t a surpassable boundary. And that if we did allow ourselves to cross lines, it would only be a summer fling. For now…not forever.
